Getting verified with no engineer and no change of payment provider
aven. had no engineer, no agency, and no appetite for a migration. Getting verified left Stripe and the WooCommerce store exactly where they were.
The founder's first question was the right one: what do I have to rip out? The answer was nothing, and it took a while to be believed.
The challenge
- No developer on the team, and no budget for one.
- Another tool they had tried asked for a migration and was abandoned mid-install.
- Shoppers asked about returns before buying, and the answer sat on a page few of them opened.
The solution
Three steps, no migration
Create the WeRefund account, connect the WooCommerce store and Stripe, then get verified. WooCommerce supplies the orders; Stripe supplies the payments and the refunds aven. issues, and stays aven.'s payment provider.
The badge went where the doubt was
The WeRefund Verified ✓ badge shows on the product page and in the cart. It carries no number: the shopper sees the actual deadline after the purchase, in the WeRefund Policy Record.
"We kept Stripe and we kept our store. What changed is that the policy is now checked, and the badge says so."
Amara Osei, FounderThe results
- Verified on the 30-day formula, counted from delivery.
- Stripe stayed the payment provider; nothing was migrated.
- One paragraph in the terms, one Stripe connection and one WooCommerce connection were the entire integration work.
What changed afterwards
What mattered to a three-person team was that nobody had to learn a new system. When the policy page changes, WeRefund re-checks it, and the badge stays only while the policy passes.
